A woman who was involved in a one-vehicle wreck Wednesday on New Rosedale Road Northeast in Armuchee, remained in stable condition Thursday, said an FMC spokesman.

Rome-Floyd Fire Department and Floyd County police officials responded to the scene that occurred at 7 p.m.

According to officer Floyd Brooks:

Betty Jo Barten, 55, of 45 Gore Drive, was traveling west in a white Ford Ranger truck on New Rosedale Road (Ga. Highway 156) when she drove off the road onto the south shoulder and into the embankment.

Barten was airborne for approximately 120 feet before she hit the ground on the driver’s side of the truck that then flipped several times and came to rest in the yard of 606 New Rosedale Road.

Fire department officials extracted Barten from the vehicle by cutting off the top of her truck.

She was taken to FMC for evaluation and treatment.
