The Coosa Valley Tennis Association has taken on a new look with the arrival of a new logo and a new website this week.

The changes come in connection with the start of the three-day 2010 USTA Southern Combo State Championships that is being hosted by the CVTA and begins Friday morning.

The tournament is the second state event being held in Rome this year, the first coming in May when the CVTA was the host for the 2010 USTA League Tennis Adult State Championships Team that resulted in netting the association the USTA Georgia’s Tennis Event/Program of the Year Award.

With Rome’s historic “Clocktower” serving as the main focal point to those who visit the city, the CVTA Board of Directors incorporated the structure into the new logo that, in addition to being placed at the top of the new Web site, will also make its tennis debut on the Combo State Championship T-shirts the CVTA will provide for the nearly 600 players from all around the state who will be competing in the event.

The website, which will continue to be found at www.coosavalleytennis.com, was designed in conjunction with the CVTA by SkidawayWeb.com of Savannah, Ga., a firm that develops custom websites including sites for community tennis associations in Savannah and Athens.

In addition to information concerning the CVTA, its programs and links to USTA state, sectional and national websites, the new site that was spearheaded by CVTA Board members Dave Dawson and Brandi Littlejohn allow players to register and take part in a players’ forum, establish on-line contact with other players when looking for or forming a team and receive a monthly e-mail CVTA newsletter.

A registration drive will start next week with one name being selected each week to win a tennis prize.
