Two people remained in jail Tuesday morning after being arrested and charged with shoplifting around $300 in clothing from Belk, reports state.

According to Floyd County jail records:

Devante Daniels, 18, of 6 Garden Court in Rome and Sara Daniel Jackson, 37, 609 Brown St., were arrested after the two tried to leave the Belk on Martha Berry Highway Monday evening.

The loss prevention employees caught the two trying to leave the store with the clothing. Both were held until the police arrived.

Both were arrested and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.
