ATHENS, Ga. (AP)-- Police in Athens are investigating the shooting death of a public employee outside his home.

Police say 30-year-old Kenneth Omari Wray was shot multiple times Tuesday night and later died at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Athens-Clarke police Capt. Clarence Holeman says Wray worked for the Athens-Clarke Transportation and Public Works Department. Police say he lived with his mother, who called 911 after she heard gunshots.

Neighbors reported hearing as many as five gunshots and saw a man running away from the victim's home, but police said Wednesday they have little to go on.

Plice are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information in the case.
