The Rome Downtown Development Authority has released its list of free First Friday concerts that begin in May and end in September, scheduled on the first Friday of each month.

The concerts will be from 7 to 10 p.m. at Bridgepoint Plaza near the Robert Redden Footbridge.

The following is schedule released by the DDA:

May 6 – Broad and Third Band

June 3 – KneckDown

July 1– Curiosity Shoppe

Aug. 5 – Infinity Show Band

Sept. 2 – Ga. Blues Brothers.

First Fridays have been an annual occurrence for the past 13 years.

Around five to six non-profit organizations will be set up selling food, or attendees can bring their own food, along with blankets and chairs.

Last year, the concerts drew in about 1,500 to 2,000 people per concert. The bands this year are all local bands, except for the Ga. Blues Brothers, which is from Atlanta.

Tayler Critchlow, a junior at Armuchee High School, is an intern with the Rome News-Tribune.
