Armuchee and Pepperell FBLA students excel at state convention

Floyd County Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students from Armuchee High School and Pepperell High School placed in the top 10 in the state at the 2011 Georgia FBLA State leadership Conference held in Atlanta recently. The FBLA State Leadership Conference is the culmination of the Georgia FBLA year.

Members use skills they have developed throughout the year to compete in over forty different competitive events ranging from public speaking to web design.

Floyd County FBLA members placing at the Leadership Conference were: Caleb Smith, a senior at Pepperell High, placed 5th in Personal Finance.

  • Caleb Smith and his teammate Morgan Smith, a senior at Pepperell High, placed 4th in the Global Business team event.
  • Kristen Shiflett, a junior at Armuchee High School, placed 7th in Personal Finance.
  • Whitney Dutton, a junior at Pepperell High School, placed 5th overall in Business Law.
  • Candice Culp, a junior at Pepperell High School, placed 5th in Healthcare Administration.


Caleb Smith qualified to represent Georgia at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida in June.

The state chapter of Georgia FBLA is the largest state chapter in the nation and the largest in the history of FBLA with over 27,500 members.

GREAT JOB for the FBLA! Coosa did have two that competed at the state level; however, did not place in the top 10! Proud of these students!
