THE ROME CITY Commission and the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority need to take a step back and take a second look at who provided funding for the Barron Stadium track before they declare it off-limits to the public. This new track was made possible because voters approved a SPLOST. We, the taxpayers, paid for this track and should be allowed to walk and run on it.

Shorter University and Rome High School did not pay for the track, therefore they should not be the only ones to benefit from it.

The next time you want to build something for a certain group, I suggest you get those people to cover the cost, then there will be no question as to who can use it and who cannot.

Please look long and hard at this situation before your final decision.
