Graydon McCrite and Conor Monoghan shattered school records to lead Berry's men's swim team to a second-place finish at the Brenau University Invitational Saturday in Gainesville, Ga. The Vikings' women's team finished fourth. Both teams competed in only one day of the two-day meet.

McCrite's record came in the 100-yard backstroke, which he won in a time of 57.57 seconds. Monoghan set Berry's record in the 200 yard individual medley, swimming the event in a time of 2:13.44 to place first.

Monoghan also earned a victory in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 5:04.42, while David Lutomski won the 100-yard butterfly, in 55.32 seconds.

The Vikings' 400 yard medley relay team of Lutomski, Monoghan, McCrite and Johnathan Purdy won that event, clocking a 3:49.17.

Rachel Sandoval recorded the top finish by a Berry woman, finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.28 seconds.

Berry returns to the pool Nov. 19 at the Panther Invitational in LaGrange.
