Quincy Fluker, marketing manager for Professional Freedom Tax Service is answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.

What is the primary purpose of your business? Professional Freedom Tax Service specializes in individual income tax preparation. With our expertise in tax accounting we will work with clients one-on-one to develop a solution of plans to help maximize their tax refund or minimize their tax liability. At Professional Freedom we use proactive accuracy methods when filing taxes to prevent an audit. In the event there is an audit we are open all year round to resolve the audit issue in our clients favor.

What is your business background? The vice president has a business degree and the marketing manager has a degree in marketing and management. Our tax specialists have degrees in accounting and more than 15 years experience in tax preparation. Our staff includes an accountant, financial adviser, certified tax specialists and a certified marketing specialist.

Why did you start this particular business? Professional Freedom Tax Service was started to successfully help individuals file timely tax returns, get caught up on filing prior years’ tax return and to prevent and resolve any audit issues they may have encountered in the past. Professional Freedom gives individuals an incorporated, insured, certified and local tax firm they can trust to be in their best interest, long term in Rome.

What makes your business unique? Not only are we open all year round, but also our competitive prices are unique.

Many individuals do their own taxes from home. Our prices are based on what clients would pay if they used an online tax program to file their returns.

We are introducing flat- rate tax preparation where we will define clients’ tax needs and choose 1 of our 3 rates that best matches the complexity of their tax need.

Also, this year we are temporarily offering a drop-off service. Clients can drop of their tax information or we can pick it up from their home or office. One of our tax specialists will call when your tax return is ready for your review and approval to submit to the IRS.

What do you enjoy most about your profession? We enjoy seeing the smile on a client’s face from their being relieved to know we have fulfilled all of their tax needs, whether it is resolving an audit issue, maximizing their tax refund, minimizing their tax liability or getting them caught with filing prior years’ tax returns.

What’s the biggest challenge to overcome as a small business owner? The planning process. Planning can help a business avoid mistakes and take advantage of hidden opportunities. Even after developing a very detailed business plan, planning for the business never ends.

We are always trying to figure out what can we do better, how we can tackle every client’s need and always get positive results that keep him or her smiling this year and every year.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? Individual tax filers, did you know that when you itemize by saving all your receipts and medical bills, if those expenses do not exceed your standard IRS tax deduction (single $5,700, head of household $8,400 or married $11,400), then it would be in your best interest to take the standard deduction as opposed to taking the itemized deduction?

Let Professional Tax Freedom tell you more about it. And remember, we won’t file until you smile!

We would welcome the opportunity to serve you, earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. We are the experts!
