Two Rome women were arrested Wednesday morning on misdemeanor shoplifting charges after they took several items from the Walmart at 2510 Redmond Circle without paying, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

Samantha Pierson, 30, and Jammonica Nicole Curry, 21, both of 1803 Martha Berry Blvd., were arrested after taking items collectively valued at $41.40.

Pierson concealed pregnancy/ovulation tests in her pocketbook, and Curry hid two packs of Carmex lip balm in her purse.

They were released from jail Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Get a job and buy condoms, instead of stealing prego tests.

This can't be for real. Does the health department not do free pregnancy tests?

No, the heath department does not do free pregnancy tests. They are $20. If you get a positive, they sign you up for pregnancy medicaid which covers it, but if it's negative, you pay out of pocket.

Planned Parenthood does free ones though, I think. Although I'm not entirely sure we even have one here in Rome.

The article says that it was pregnancy/ovulation tests, which would mean she was probably attempting to get pregnant. Although, if she can't afford the tests, she probably can't aford a child.
