Mr. and Mrs. William F. “Bill” Thomas of Armuchee recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married January 4, 1952 at the home of the bride’s uncle in Marietta Georgia.

Mrs. Thomas, the former Beverly Fay Price was born in Marietta. They have lived in Floyd County for 42 years. After retirement from the Floyd County Probate Court Office, she is now fulfilling her passion for staying active by working part-time in the Sheriff’s Office as a bailiff.

Mr. Thomas was born in Atlanta. He served in the Marines during the Korean War and then worked at Dobbins Air Force Base. He has enjoyed carpentry and woodworking all his life.

They have three sons, Mike Thomas, Steve Thomas and Randy Thomas of Armuchee and one daughter, Beverly Johnston of Lindale.

They have 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Their secret to a successful and lengthy marriage is their love and trust in each other and the love of family and friends.
