Georgia Northwestern Technical College will host a delegation of five officials from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

The team will be visiting GNTC to study best practices strategies used at the college to aid in developing a new community college in Saudi Arabia.

Visitors will tour GNTC’s Floyd County Campus and hear presentations from college administration on the operations of GNTC. The delegation will be focused on gathering information related to the areas of institutional effectiveness, allied health programs, and accreditation.

According to Alexander Ybasco, dean of quality assurance and academic accreditation at KFU, the team decided to visit Georgia Northwestern because of the college’s reputation and institutional effectiveness standards.

“We look forward to hosting the group from King Faisal University and hope to work toward developing a relationship that will be beneficial to both institutions,” said Craig McDaniel, GNTC president.

The team will arrive at GNTC at 1 p.m. Thursday.

King Faisal University is located in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
