Georgia Northwestern Technical College will host a delegation of five officials from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia today. The team will be visiting GNTC to study best practices and strategies used at the college to aid in developing a new community college in Saudi Arabia. The team will arrive at GNTC at 1 p.m.

The first Civil War Symposium of 2012 will be today at 6:30 p.m. in the Coosa Room of the Rome-Floyd County Library, 305 Riverside Parkway. Local author and historian Mike Ragland will present “When the Yankees Came to Rome” a lecture covering the events of Northwest Georgia from May to November 1864.
