Epting comes to Shorter from Clemson University, where he has served as director of development for the Division of Student
Affairs. At Clemson, he has worked to communicate the case for support and lead the strategy, design and implementation of major fundraising initiatives. He has also identified major gift prospects, cultivated individual and corporate donors, and strengthened parent involvement and support.
Epting began work at Clemson as assistant director of student development services in the Office of Student Development Services and later served as associate director of new student and family programs and director of orientation for the Office of New Student and Sophomore Programs. Also, he worked as assistant director of the visitor center for the Office of Enrollment Management at the University of South Carolina.
Epting is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Gardner-Webb University and a Master of Counseling Education from Clemson University. He is completing his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership at Clemson University.
He and his wife, Hannah, are originally from South Carolina. They have two children, James and Campbell.
