Partners of LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center, including Atlanta Braves former manager Bobby Cox, Braves Manager Fredi Gonzales and Kansas City Royals Manager Ned Yost, welcomed development partners, local dignitaries and friends of LakePoint to an open house held today at the new LakePoint jobsite trailer located onsite at 755 Highway 293 in Emerson, GA.

The open house was a chance for guests to see an up close view of the LakePoint property, as well as meet the partners and tenants such as Perfect Game and Braveheart Sports Events, LLC, a partnership between North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA) and LB3 Lacrosse.

The LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center project includes a 262-acre sports complex, which will be the center of the LakePoint Sporting Community.

The entire development will include:

- 16 tournament Baseball Fields

- 14 Tournament Lacrosse / Soccer Fields

- FIFA II Certified Field for NCAA and International Soccer Events

- 114,000 SF Indoor Facility for Lacrosse, Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Cheerleading

- World’s Largest Synthetic Turf Sports Complex, provided by Sportexe (A division of Shaw Industries)

- Over 1 Million SF of Mixed-Use / Retail with Approximately 20 Restaurants

- Approximately 4,000 Hotel Rooms On Site

LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center will be home to three major tenants. Perfect Game, USA, the "gold standard" resource for baseball recruiting for collegiate, minor and major league scouts. LB3 Lacrosse, one of the nation’s premier organizers of Lacrosse camps, clinics and tournament travel teams, and North Atlanta Soccer Association (NASA), the largest youth soccer organizations in the Southeast.

Upon full build-out, LakePoint will become one of the largest employers in the Northwest Georgia Region, employing thousands. Perfect Game USA is moving its 50+ person headquarter operation from Cedar Rapids, IA to Bartow County, GA.

"First and foremost LakePoint project will enhance the physical, emotional and psychological well-being of our youth – our future – by participation in team sports. And, it will develop the ultimate youth sports destination in the world, bringing unparalleled economic impact to the local community and region," said Cox.

The privately-funded LakePoint project will not only host hundreds of baseball tournaments, but also lacrosse and soccer tournaments for approximately 10 out of 12 months per year.

The first pitch, kick and shot are slated for 2013.
