Sarah Machelle Conn and Luke Anthony Martin were married at 5 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Berry College Chapel in Rome.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Bruce Conn of Rome. The groom is the son of Darrell Martin of Gadsden, Ala., and Mrs. Debra Story of Rome.

Dr. Charles Paul Conn of Lee University performed the double-ring ceremony in front of the altar decorated with iridescent bows, magnolia foliage, poinsettias and candles. The center aisle was adorned with white bows.

The selection of music included, “Cannon in D” performed by Annie Camp’s string trio.

Jennifer Dunaway of Armuchee was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Dunaway of Birmingham, Ala, Anya Dziurzynski of Rome, Eileen Peabody of McDonough, and Jennifer Folsom of Gainesville. The bridesmaids wore strapless formal dresses of claret satin with ruched waists in an A-line with corset backs. The bodices were accented with bugle beads and iridescence.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white strapless gown of Italian satin, A-line with ruched waist and bodice accented with bugle beads. The gown featured a chapel length detachable train. The veil was elbow-length scalloped single layer with accent edging of silver bugle beads and iridescence.

The bride and bridesmaids carried white roses tied with white satin ribbon.

Madison Martin of Armuchee, brother of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were Josh Conn and Sam Conn of Rome, brothers of the bride as well as Colby Crowley of Armuchee, and Jason Conner of Kennesaw.

The mother of the bride wore a tea-length silver and platinum dress of satin. The double-breasted long sleeve jacket featured a portrait shawl collar mixed with a bow. The mother of the groom wore a rose iridescent tea length dress with a jewel trimmed three-quarter-length sleeve jacket. The mothers were presented with white rose corsages.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and reception was held in the Ford Dining Hall. Refreshments included a five-tiered cake featuring vanilla butter cream icing with cream cheese filling decorated with thin Victorian swag piping in white topped with red roses and a red bead of icing around the bottom layer. The groom featured a choice of tiered martini glasses of tiramisu.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Village at Maplewood.

Pre-nuptials parties included a shower at the Lee University President’s dining room in Cleveland, Tenn., as well as showers at the Hawthorn Suites hotel in Rome, Residence Inn Buckhead, and Dave’s Modern Tavern in Monteagle, Tenn.

After a wedding trip to Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., the couple resides in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
