Eighth-grader Ethan Pender has qualified to represent Darlington School at the state level of the National Geographic Bee.

“Ethan has won four school-level bees at Darlington and we are excited that he will have another opportunity this year to represent us at the state competition,” said Steve Bartholomew, director of Lower School and Darlington’s Geographic Bee coordinator. “We wish him the best of luck.”

The state bee will be March 30 at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. It will feature students in grades 4-8.

The winner from each state and territory will advance to the national competition, which will be May 22-24 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The story says geography bee. The headline says spelling bee. I assume that one of them is wrong.
