Rome police are looking for a man who walked into a home in the College Heights area near South Division Street and told the resident he was a police officer.

According to Jeff Richerson, a detective with the Rome Police Department:

The resident heard a noise and saw a man in her home around 6:13 a.m. Sunday. He told her he was a police officer and asked if her husband was home.

She went into her bedroom and called police. The resident was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a clean cut white male about six feet tall with average build. He possibly has a sunken face or prominent jaw line.

He was wearing a dark ball cap without a logo and a dark fitted jacket. When he fled the scene he would have been in the area of South Hughes or South Hanks Street.

If anyone noticed a person like this in the area at that time or knows anything about this crime, please contact Richerson at 706-238-5123.

I have GOT to see this guy. Anybody with a sunken face and a prominent jaw line should be allowed to go anywhere he wants. Perhaps thats what sunk his face in. Or maybe he was in search of a plunger,to,you know, unsink his face. Did anybody ask? At least he's not the guy with the pointy nose and thin lips that hides in my trash can, feasting in the moonlight.

"He was wearing a dark ball cap without a log"?

I don't know, do most people wear logs on their ball caps? I'm guessing you mean "LOGO"?

Hello, R-NT, are there any openings for proofreaders at your place? I work really fast and cheap. I'm pretty accurate, as well.
