The Rome Shrine Ladies’ yard sale will be today from 8 a.m. to noon at 2702 Garden Lakes Blvd. Proceeds will help burned children at Shriners hospitals. For more information call 706-295-5604.

The Leprechaun-a-thon road race and health walk will begin today at 9 a.m. on West Third Street near Barron Stadium. Registration will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. for the 5K and 7 to 9 a.m. for the 2-mile walk. Race-day registration is $25.

The Valley and Ridge Gem and Mineral Show will continue today at The Forum. Admission is free. The event includes gems, minerals and fossils. Today’s hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Lindale, 9 Park Ave., Lindale, is having a clothing giveaway today from 10 a.m. to noon for the community. There is no charge for any item. The event will be conducted in the church’s Christian Life Center. Gently used and new clothes for all sizes, infants through adults, will be available. The St. Petrick’s Day Parade will be today at 11 a.m. with registration beginning at 10 a.m. in the parking lot adjacent to Bridgepoint Plaza. A $10 entry fee will be charged per pet and includes a free T-shirt while supplies last. Trophies will be awarded for Best Pet Costume, Most Unusual Pet, Best Pet-Owner Look-Alike (not costumes) and Best Pet/Owner Team Costumes. For more information call 706-234-7979. The second annual Ginger Walk will be today. Participants should meet at Heritage Park at noon for food and fun. They will march to City Hall beginning at 12:30 p.m.

A Luck O’ the Greens Salad Lunch will be today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the historic Hearn Academy classroom building in Rolater Park in Cave Spring. The suggested donation is $8 for the buffet-style lunch. A “Night of Africa” today at 7:30 p.m. will feature music, art and desserts, with benefits going to the Sponsorship of Orphans in Uganda Project. The event will be at 7 Hills Fellowship, 538 Broad St. Jeremy Marshall, a member of the WinShape community will speak, followed by viewing artwork and photography. SOUP seeks to raise money and awareness for orphans in the remote village of Isita, Uganda. Their needs are proper education, affordable medical treatment and holistic living environments for the children. A $7 donation is encouraged. Child care will be provided.
