The Rome High School Choral Department is pleased to announce that thirty-six students from Rome High School were selected for the 2011-2012 Georgia Music Educators All-State Chorus. This is the highest number of students ever selected for All-State Chorus from Rome High School, doubling the record set last year.

The RHS chorus students are under the direction of Jennifer Williams.

Being selected for All-State Chorus is a prestigious honor, as only 11 percent of all students who audition across the state are selected. To be selected, students must pass a challenging audition process, which includes singing several scales, performing a solo, completing music audiation and theory examples and sight-reading three lines of music.

All chorus students who were selected for All-State Chorus are required to learn their concert repertoire and demonstrate proficiency at a second audition in January.

Reading Chorus

A record number of Rome High School students were selected for the 2011-2012 Georgia All-State Reading Chorus. All-State Reading Chorus was established in 2006 to showcase the best 100 vocal sight-readers in the state of Georgia.

Since the inception of All-State Reading Chorus, Rome High School students have consistently been selected as members of this state-level honor choir, and their audition scores are frequently among the top scores in the local district.
