He recently spoke to military related men in Germany, will be speaking at the Billy Graham Cove conference center this summer and has been asked to be the keynote speaker for the NRA’s prayer breakfast at the 2013 national conference in Houston, Texas.
Also during the event, Rome’s Earl Tillman will receive the Hugh Burnes Christian Service Award. It is given each year to someone who lives a life of humble service to God and to our community.
Tillman is commander of Civil Air Patrol where he teaches leadership skills to adults and young people and participates in search and rescue missions. He’s a certified flight instructor and uses those skills at Tillman Aviation University to provide high quality, safe, real-world, fun and exciting flight instruction to those who want to learn to fly. As a pilot he has made emergency flights for families in need and works with local Boy Scouts to obtain aviation badges. He has been a member of First Baptist Church of Rome since 1985 where he has served in many capacities including deacon, Sunday School and Bible study teacher, chair of the Ushers Committee, Chair of Personnel Committee and Social Committee member.
