A Lindale woman was arrested and charged Tuesday after she allegedly was growing marijuana plants in her back yard as well as upstairs in her residence, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Kimberly Virginia Elkins, 48, of 412 Grove Ave., was charged with a felony count of manufacturing marijuana.

Elkins gave her consent for the search and told officers she had been growing the plants and maintaining them herself for her own personal use.

She remained in jail Tuesday night without bond.
