Polk County deputies made one arrest Wednesday afternoon and confiscated a sizable number of marijuana plants, according to Polk County Sheriff Kelly McLendon.

“We’re in the process of making an arrest and securing evidence,” said McLendon.

McLendon confirmed a search warrant was executed on McKibben Road near the Polk-Haralson county line between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

One man identified as Cody Lee Ferguson, who lives at the residence, was arrested.

The sheriff said more than 50 marijuana plants have been confiscated, but a street value has not yet been estimated.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case because of an anonymous caller.

“A concerned citizen reported some illegal activities at that address, and we followed up on it,” McLendon said.
