Mr. and Mrs. John Avery Wilkins of Longmont, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Ashley Wilkins to U.S. Navy Lieutenant Junior Grade Mark Alexander Mooring of Norfolk, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Harold Mooring Jr. of Rome.

Miss Wilkins is a 2008 graduate of Skyline High School in Longmont, Colo. She graduated from Washington College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. The bride-elect is the sister of Erick Wilkins of Ft. Collins, Colo., as well as Whitney and Katlyn Wilkins, both of Longmont, Colo.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leonard Wilkins.

Mooring is a 2003 graduate of Darlington School. He attended New Mexico Military Institute and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.

The groom-elect is the brother of Molly Mooring Melin of Evanston, Ill. and wyatt Mooring of Dothan, Ala. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Tiry Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Harold Mooring Sr. as well as Ruth Conrad Mooring of Decatur, Ala.

The wedding is planned for June 11, 2012 at Wild Basin Lodge in Estes Park, Colo.
