Mr. and Mrs. James Hollister Hobgood announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Nevin Hobgood, to Thomas Dominique Denis Gauthier of St. Desirat, France.

Miss Hobgood is the sister of Hollis Hobgood of Rome, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stein of Anderson, S.C., W.L. Smith of Concord, Mrs. James Hobgood of Marietta, formerly of Calhoun, and the late Mr. Hobgood.

Gauthier is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Emile Gauthier of St. Desirat, France and the brother of Marie Gauthier and Jean Gauthier both of St. Desirat, France.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Michel Tinland of Lyon, France, and the late Mr. Tinland and Mr. and Mrs. Jean Gauthier of St. Desirat, France.

Miss Hobgood is a 2004 graduate of Darlington School and a 2008 graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., where she received her B.A. in both Peace and Conflict Studies and Religious Studies. She is currently enrolled in the Marketing Master’s of Business Administration program at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Gauthier is a 2004 graduate of the Lycee St. Denis in France. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering in 2007 and his master’s degree in Aerospace in 2009 from the Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace in Toulouse, France. He earned a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2011 and is currently pursuing his doctorate in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech.

The wedding will take place June 30 in St. Desirat, France, to be followed by a ceremony in Decatur.
