Danny and Sandra Graham have opened the Ye Old Sawmill Grill at 15 Everett Springs Road in the Rosedale community north of Rome.

The location was formerly known as the Smokehouse and Sawmillers Grill. “We just elaborated on that instead of trying to décor inside,” Graham said.

Danny Graham said that he has previous restaurant experience in South Georgia and looks to run the new restaurant 16 hours a day seven days a week, but admits he may tweak his weekend hours after he sees how the business goes. Hours are not quite as big an issue for the Grahams since they live less than half a mile from the restaurant.

The restaurant will open at 5:00 a.m. and stay open until 9:00 p.m.

“Everything will be fresh-cooked, pretty well homemade,” Graham said.

Papa Smurf pancakes will be a specialty during the break-fast hours. They’re butternut flavored,” Graham said.

Pulled pork barbecue and Brunswick stew will be hall-marks of the lunch and dinner menus.

“Country style Southern cookin’” Graham said. “We’re going to give it a shot and see how it all works out.”
