Rome Braves fall to RiverDogs

The turning point: The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when the RiverDogs got on the scoreboard first. They added three more runs in the sixth, and one each in the seventh and eighth.

Who did what for Rome: The Braves managed only four hits. They were by Sergio Miranda, Ryan Query, Brandon Drury and Elmer Reyes. Tony Mueller had an RBI for the Braves, and Reyes scored the Braves’ only run.

On the mound: David Filak pitched six innings and took the loss dropping to 2-3 for the season. Filak gave up four runs, struck out three and allowed six hits. Jarrett Miller pitched the final two innings.

Game notes: The Braves are on a three-game skid.

Next Game: The return home to State Mutual Stadium for an eight-game homestand beginning with a three-game series against the Augusta GreenJackets.
