Barbara Penson qualified for re-election as Floyd County’s Clerk of Superior Court. She released the following state-ment:

I ask the Floyd County voters to re-elect the most qualified candidate for Clerk of Superior Court. I am highly qualified, experienced and have served loyally four years as your Clerk of Superior Court.

I am a lifelong resident of Floyd County having attended Armuchee Schools. I am a graduate of Georgia Highlands Col-lege and Shorter University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I previously was employed for the Floyd County Board of Education Superintendent’s Office for 29 years. I was married to the late Reverend Donald W. Pen-son and I have 3 adult children.

My mission as your Clerk of Superior Court has been to be as helpful as possible and to serve all people with equal re-spect. I have been instrumental and making many positive improvements in the Clerk’s Office since becoming your Clerk. Notary licensure is now online, Uniform Commercial Codes are electronically filed and Georgia Legal Aid pro-vides services to Floyd County residents now. The Clerk’s Of-fice is nearing the launch of online Index Real Estate Books as well as online Civil and Criminal records. These accom-plishments are being made with Budget cuts and I have man-aged to come in under budget every year.
