Report: Man hit child repeatedly with belt

A Rome man was arrested and charged Wednesday for allegedly hitting his 5-year-old child with a belt, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Marlin Rafael Williams, 32, of 1801 Gordon Ave., was charged with felony cruelty to children and felony battery (FVA) in connection with the incidents that happened at his home.

The child had injuries to the hips, front, side and rear of legs. The report did not indicate if the child was taken to the hospital.
