On Wednesday, Jordan returned to Rome and once again discussed baseball — but this time, it was with a much a younger group of players.
The former Atlanta Braves outfielder was in town for the Brian Jordan Baseball Clinic, which began on Wednesday and had over 40 kids participate.
“It went great,” said YAI president Brian Corntassel when reached by phone.
“Brian Jordan came in with a group of six minor leaguers that assist him in his camps and they really got down to the fundamentals of baseball.”
The camp continues today, although Jordan will not be able to be attend.
Jordan will, however, return on Friday for the camp’s final day.
“We’re just glad to have him come in and help up with a fundraiser and teach the basics of baseball,” said Corntassel.
Jordan played major league baseball from 1992 to 2006, including stints with the Braves, Cardinals, Dodgers and Rangers.
He played for the Braves from 1999-2001 and 2005-06, and was an All-Star selection in 1999.
Prior to breaking into the majors, he had a short career in the NFL, playing safety for the Atlanta Falcons from 1989 to 1991.
