A Rome man and woman were arrested and charged Thursday evening with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Keana Tiara Harper, 18, of 14 Flora Ave., and Malcolm Alexander Williams, 18, of 3 South Fork, were pulled over on Riverbend Drive for a seat belt violation when the officer smelled “a strong odor of green marijuana” and brought in a K9 unit that confirmed the drug was present in the car.

Police found more than an ounce of marijuana, a set of scales and baggies.

Both Harper and Williams remained in jail Thursday night without bonds.
