Richard Franklin Garner, 48, of Cedartown, was pronounced dead at Floyd Medical Center at 10:15 a.m. said Floyd County Coroner Barry Henderson.
The cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Garner was driving a 1974 Ford Courier pick-up truck west on Walker Mountain Road when he crossed the center line, went into a ditch and struck a tree, said Pfc. Chase Burnes of the Floyd County Police Department.
The investigation into the wreck is continuing.
