Domestic dispute leads to arrest

A Rome man was arrested early Saturday on felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an early morning domestic dispute, reports stated.

According to reports from the Floyd County Jail:

Jeffery Lynn Carter, 44, of 42 S. Avery Road, was jailed by Floyd County police around 5:30 a.m. after he struck a woman in the face, causing her left eye to swell and a cut on her lip.

Police also reported that Carter said that he threatened to harm the woman further in the incident.
