Even though he spent most of the night in the visitor’s bullpen, former Armuchee star Tyler Wilson had to feel right at home on Tuesday night at State Mutual Stadium.

Wilson — who played his high school ball just a few miles from the stadium — now pitches for the Greenville Drive.

He worked an inning of relief during Tuesday’s series opener against the Rome Braves.

Wilson, who also pitched at SMS last season when the Drive visited Rome, allowed one run with one strikeout in his lone inning of work as the Braves downed the Drive, 5-3.

Wilson was selected by Boston in the 14th round of the 2008 draft.

Prior to Tuesday, he had pitched in nine games for Greenville, and had posted an ERA of 5.02.

The Braves and Drive continue the series tonight at 7 p.m. For tickets, call 706-368-9388.
