Polk County officials have made no decision about a new formula for distribution of local option sales tax funds.

Currently, the distribution for Polk is: the county gets 54.26 percent, Cedartown gets 29.98 percent, Rockmart gets 12.30 percent and Aragon receives 3.46 percent.

Polk County Commission Chairman Cleve Hartley said his numbers show a total of 112.3 percent if everyone got the slice of the LOST pie they wanted.

“This means we have to cut more than 12 percent to get the numbers right,” he said.

“Our stance is the same as it was the last meeting,” said Aragon Mayor Ken Suffridge.
