3 charged with trafficking meth

Three people were arrested after a traffic stop late Thursday night and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

A Georgia state trooper stopped a vehicle driven by Stephen Dwight Stinson, 29, of 7 Walton Way, at the intersection of U.S. 27 North and Georgia Loop 1 after the vehicle failed to yield.

When searching the car, police found more than an ounce of methamphetamine.

Officers from the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force obtained a search warrant for Stinson’s home and found marijuana and other drugs.

Stinson was charged with possession of Xanax, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of clonazepam, possession of hydrocodone, possession of Alprazolam, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, failure to yield and a probation violation.

Two passengers in Stinson’s vehicle were also charged.

Megan Martin Stinson, 24, of 7 Walton Way, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of clonazepam, possession of hydrocodone, possession of Aprazolam, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possession of Xanax.

Bradley William Eads, 31, of 1403 Floyd Springs Road, Armuchee, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

All three remained in the Floyd County Jail on Friday night without bonds.
