A Rome woman sustained multiple injuries in a one-vehicle wreck on East Main Street near the Boys and Girls Club Sunday afternoon.

According to Rome police:

The accident happened when a motorist, headed in the direction of Cave Spring Street, said another motorist pulled from South Blanch Avenue into his path.

The 23 year-old motorist told police he locked down, causing the small Honda sedan to slam into a utility pole and then spin 180 degrees, coming to a rest facing back toward South Broad Street.

The driver was not seriously hurt, however a 28 year-old female passenger, did appear to suffer head and leg injuries. Emergency crews worked for about 15 minutes to free the woman from the wreckage and transport her to the Floyd Medical Center.
