Merrimac Locklear Forsyth and Maggie Oyler, members of Rome’s Iota chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, attended Psi State Organization Leadership Seminar I training June 1, 2, and 3, 2012 in Macon.

DKG is a professional honor society for women educators promoting professional and personal growth and excellence in education. The organization has approximately 90,000 members in 17 countries around the world.

Leadership Seminar I is focused on developing the personal attributes desired in a successful leader. The participants learned new strategies and polished strategies already obtained.

“This opportunity to learn successful leadership strategies for women has opened my eyes to becoming an even better teacher/leader within my classroom and school,” Forsyth said. “It gave me many strategies to help me cope with different personality types … Whether we are experiencing successes or failures, we should always be moving forward with a positive attitude.”
