The Braves added four to the roster Wednesday.
Right-hander Ronan Pacheco comes to Rome from Lynchburg in the Carolina League.
Second-round draft pick Alex Wood, a left-hander, also joins the team. Wood was ranked as No. 42 best prospect nationally for 2012 draft by MLB.com and No. 54 by Baseball America.
His career record at the University of Georgia was 13-10 with a 3.57 ERA in 32 games, 30 starts, 204.1 innings pitched, 180 strikeouts and 47 walks. He posted a 2.73 ERA in 2012 which was the best by a Georgia starter in 24 seasons.
David Peterson, a right-handed relief pitcher from the College of Charleston is now a Rome Brave. Peterson was selected by Atlanta in the eighth round.
He was converted to a closer in 2012 and finished with 10 saves on the Charleston team. He was 1-3 with a 3.40 earned run average.
Ross Heffley, 18th-round selection, comes to Rome from Western Carolina. He is a second baseman and is the school’s all-time hits leader. Heffley posted a career .379 batting average (third in school history) while getting 354 hits over four years.
The last addition to the Rome Braves roster is 17th-round pick outfielder and catcher Chase Anselment from the University of Washington.
Anselment led the Huskies with a .325 batting average this season, which was his first while playing catcher as his primary position. He spent last summer playing in the Cape Cod League.
The roster is now at 25 players.
