A large red-tailed hawk welcomes motorists to Rome and Floyd County on Ga. 53 north on Thursday. The bird was perched on a column of the welcome sign.

Yeah, I about demolished the beautiful bird with my windshield. It flew over the road and was about 2 ft. away from my windshield and my head. But, it was a pretty bird, almost "pretty dead"! Glad, I didn't hit it!
