According to the Georgia Multiple Listing Service, closed sales for June 2012 dropped 13.9 percent to 68 from 79 in June 2011. This is the first drop in closed sales this year with modest to significant gains showed earlier this year.
The largest drop was apparent in the total volume of closed sales - the entire price tag of all homes sold in Floyd County in June 2012.
That figure dropped 33 percent from June 2011 to June 2012 from $6,612,688 to $9,870,151 - a little over $3 million.
This number doesn't mirror the trend from earlier months in the year. The Floyd County real estate market showed gains, including a 94 percent gain in April, with modest losses earlier in 2012.
