The couple were married on July 2, 1952 in Oxford, Ala. With the Rev. J.A. Mitchell officiating.
Mrs. Wood is the former Barbara Jean Cotton.
They have five children, Diane Smith of Aragon, Jeff Wood of Cave Spring, Anthony Wood of Centre, Ala., Lisa Thomas of Rockmart and Tracy Wood of Silver Creek. They have eight grandchildren.
The Woods enjoy going to church, gardening, fishing and being with their family.
They say the secret to a successful marriage is lots of prayer, love and companionship.
