The bride is the daughter of the late Karen Lee Tate. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Cora Hollis of Rome. The groom is the son of Jim and Jackie Moreland of Silver Creek.
Judge Bob Couey performed the double-ring outdoor ceremony on the front lawn of The Claremont House. Urns of blue hydrangea lined the entrance to the ceremony. Every other aisle chair was adorned with white paper lanterns tied in blue ribbon. The center aisle was tied off with a blue silk ribbon to await the bride’s entrance.
The program music was provided by cellist Annie Camp and was accompanied by a violinist also from Seven Hills Music. The bride entered to “Here Comes the Sun.” The recessional was “Stand by Me.”
The bride, escorted by her uncle Charles Steven Hollis, wore a champagne and ivory all-over beaded lace trumpet gown with empire waist and cap sleeves and a chapel-length train. A tulle birdcage style veil completed the ensemble. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses. It was wrapped with ivory ribbon and pearl pins. She wore an antique cameo around the bouquet loaned to her by the groom’s mother.
The grandmother of the bride wore a knee-length light blue dress with matching jacket. The mother of the groom wore a tea length teal dress. Both wore matching corsages made from ivory roses.
Her attendant, Adam Gresham of Rome, wore a black pin stripe tuxedo with a royal blue vest and tie. Best man, Brenton Whatley of Rome, also wore a matching tuxedo with blue vest and tie. They both wore boutonnieres made from ivory roses.
Flower girls were Kimberly Johnston of Calhoun, cousin to the groom, and Brooke Casimiro of Florida, cousin to the bride. They carried baskets of ivory rose petals. Ring bearer was Alexis Casimiro of Florida, cousin to the bride. She carried the rings on an heirloom white bible belonging to the bride’s late mother. Each of the three girls wore tea length all-over beaded lace dresses in ivory adorned with small pink flowers at the waist.
The groom wore a black pin stripe tuxedo with ivory vest and tie to match the bride. He wore a boutonniere made from a single ivory rose.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held in the dining room of The Claremont House. Refreshments included a three tier white cake with strawberry crème filling in between each layer and iced in vanilla butter cream. The cake was decorated in white dots made of icing with blue ribbon in between each layer. The cake topper was a letter “M” for the newlywed’s new last name and a single blue hydrangea.
Prenuptial festivities included a bowling shower hosted by Melanie Rounds and Laura Weber and a wedding shower hosted by Joan Crumley at her home. The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and out of town guests at La Marie’s on Broad Street.
After a honeymoon trip to Florida, the couple will reside in Rome.
