The bride is the daughter of Ron and Peggy Crumley and William R. Barrett Jr. She is the granddaughter of Reece and Patti Barrett of Cedartown, Cynthia Robertson of Carrollton and the late Richard Robertson and Jo Schwartz.
The groom is the son of James and Susan Walker. He is the grandson of Eula Walker of Rome and the late Floyd and Mary Pearl Jackson.
The Rev. Jimmy Carter performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar decorated with a 15-branch candelabra and two seven-branch candelabras each holding lighted taper candles. A small candelabra held the couple’s unity candle. The altar was decorated with Boston ferns and palms. The pews and windows were adorned with ivory ribbon and greenery.
Pianist Melissa Brooks and flutist Deborah Adair provided a program of music. Selections included “My Heart Will Go On,” “Gentle Maiden,” “The Prayer,” “Lament For The Wild Geese,” “From This Moment On” and “Melody Within.”
Lacey Braden of Rome was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Kathleen Crumley of Rome, sister-in-law of the bride, Rachel Carpenter of Kennesaw and Sonya Holmes of Cave Spring. They wore knee-length strapless dresses of chocolate satin that featured a sweetheart neckline and pleats across the bodice. They carried bouquets of long-stem peach and ivory hydrangea, peonies and greenery tied with ivory ribbon.
Kyleigh Crumley of Rome, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. She work a short ivory satin dress with an ivory satin sash around the waistline and carried a basket of peach and ivory miniature roses.
The bride given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father and stepfather, wore a café satin gown with embroidered appliqués decorating the strapless bodice with draping from the empire to the asymmetrical dropped waistline. The full A-line skirt was shaped with soft pleats which wrapped onto the chapel length train and a fingertip veil. The bride carried a bouquet of peach and ivory roses, peach canna lilies, ivory cymbidium orchids and greenery wrapped with ivory ribbon and tulle. Cirrece Sullins, aunt of the bride, designed and created the bride’s bouquet along with the bridesmaids’ and flower girls’ bouquets.
Chris Wade of Rome was the best man. Groomsmen included Drew Martin of Kennesaw, Jereme Tant of Taylorsville and Burt Holmes of Cave Spring.
Ushers were Christian Barrett, brother of the bride and Michael Murphy.
The ring bearer was Donnie Robert Holmes of Cave Spring. He and the flower girl were escorted by Alysa Crumley, niece of the bride, in a wagon decorated with ivory tulle, ribbon and greenery.
The mother of the bride wore a layered mocha dress and a matching beaded bolero jacket. The mother of the groom wore a knee-length champagne dress with a sequined bodice, scooped neckline and an elbow-length sequined jacket. They wore wrist corsages of ivory roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Lodge at the Village of Maplewood. Refreshments included the bride’s five-tier cake featuring layers of raspberry, strawberry and lemon filling, iced and cream cheese icing, featuring scrool work and pearl dots. Each teir was wrapped in chocolate brown satin. The confection was adorned with peach-colored rose petals, topped with a bell ornatment with peach and ivory miniature roses.
The groom’s cake was a double-tier basket weave chocolate on chocolate topped with assorted fruit and a comical fishing bride and groom topper. The cakes were made by Barbara Cambron, aunt of the bride.
Josie and Savannah Crumley, nieces of the bride, of Clancy, Mont., distributed bubbles to the guests.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner fo the wedding party and friends at the Lodge at the Village of Maplewood.
Other prenuptial parties included miscellaneous showers given by Susan Walker at her home, Cirrece Sullins, Frankie Reed and Julie Robbins, aunts of the bride, at the Lodge at the Village of Maplewood, Patti Barrett, grandmother of the bride, at her home, Lacy Braden at La Marie’s and a bridesmaids brunch hosted by Beverly Sledge at La Marie’s.
After a wedding trip to Panama City Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Rome.
