Candice Lynn Chastain and Kiah Eugene Buford were married at 7 p.m Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Proctor Farm in Rome.

The bride is the daughter of Cindy and David Chastain of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy and Kenneth Cook of Rome and the late Betty Gable of Forrest Park.

The groom is the son of Shelia and Walt Busby of Centre, Ala., and Tod and Beth Buford of Cedartown. He is the grandson of Mozelle Brownlow of Rome, Ronnie and Patty Buford of Rome, the late Gene Brownlow and the late Brenda Buford.

Rev. Richard Webster performed the double ring ceremony before a wooden altar decorated with a hanging stained glass window and a crystal chandelier. A small table held the couple’s customized unity sand set and coral roses bushes were placed on each side of the altar. Pews were decorated with hanging mason jars, the brides theme, filled with various colored gerber daisies.

The bride walked down the aisle to “From This Moment On” sung by Amber Lee of Calhoun.

Megan Webster of Adairsville was the the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Kira Fox of Calhoun and Jessica Holten of Adairsville. They wore strapless satin knee length dresses of coral color. They carried bouquets of coral gerber daisies, green hydrangea, and peach colored daisies and roses hand tied with satin ribbon and a coral corset wrapped ribbon. 

Joccee Wilson of Adairsville was the flower girl. She wore a full-length ball down dress with a beaded bodice, a full organza skirt with flowers sewn in the bottom of the dress. 

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white organza strapless A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a three-dimensional beaded flower embellishment on the left side. A fingertip veil of illusion was edged in beaded crystals. The bride carried a bouquet of coral roses, peach lilies, green hydrangeas and white mini calla lilies hand tied with a beaded bouquet wrap.

Kipp Buford, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen included Ryan Griffin of Long Island, N.Y. and Steven Powers of Rome.

Ushers were Chris and Michael Chastain, brothers of the bride. 

The mother of the bride wore a knee length black dress with a matching jacket featuring roses around the collar and three-quarter length sleeves and jewelry matching the wedding party colors. The mother of the groom wore a knee length sleeveless dress of plum purple and the step mother of the groom wore a knee length strapless black dress with white floral embellishments. 

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Proctor Farm in Rome. Food included the bride’s three-tier cake featuring the traditional wedding cake flavor. The layers were accented with scroll-work and adorned with coral gerber daisies. The cake was topped with coral gerber daisies and the couple’s monogram initial. The groom’s cake was a single layer base red velvet cake topped with an edible three-dimensional hounds-tooth Paul “Bear” Bryant Alabama hat adorned with a coral feather. 

The evening before the wedding a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party was held at The Homestead Restaurant of Kingston. Other prenuptial parties included a couples shower held by the men and women of Fellowship Baptist Church of Plainville, a shower hosted at the home of Ronnie and Patty Buford by Sissie Horne, aunt of the groom, a shower hosted by Shelia Busby, mother of the groom and a shower hosted by Dorothy Cook, grandmother of the bride, and Pat Casey, aunt of the bride. A bachelorette dinner and party was held by the bridesmaids. The groomsmen hosted a golf outing for the groom the day before the wedding. 

After a week-long honeymoon at the Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica the couple resides in West Rome.
