The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Patterson of Rome. The groom is the son of Marguerite Brock of Armuchee and the late James Paul Brock.
The chaplain Marlon D. Haney performed the double-ring ceremony in the garden of the Governor’s House.
Music selections included “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “The Wedding March,” “My Best Friend,” “When God Made You” and “Love Will Be Our Home.”
A table was placed at the altar with a memorial candle and picture of the groom’s father.
The candelabra was lit by the groom’s children Cassie and Will Brock as well as by the bride’s son Charles Champion II.
The couple performed a unity sand ceremony while pouring the sand to the song “Now and Forever.”
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white halter top formal gown with silver sequins in the front and a long train in back. The veil was white with silver sequins. The bride’s bouquet was royal blue roses with baby’s breath, silver beads a butterfly and with blue and white ribbon.
Tammy Roberson of Rome was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Virginia Robinson of Rome and Cassie Brock of Armuchee, daughter of the groom. The maid of honor wore a floor-length dress of royal blue princess align satin with cap sleeves, and a satin bow in the front. The bridesmaids wore royal blue sleeveless dresses of differening lengths. They all carried one blue rose with blue and white riboon.
Jerry Corbin was the best man. Groomsmen were Charles Champion II, son of the bride and Will Brock, son of the groom. The father of the bride wore a black suit and navy blue tie. The best men and the groom all wore black tuxedos with royal blue bow ties and vests to match.
The mother of the bride wore an ivory, tea-length dress with silver sequins. The mother of the groom wore a teal long sleeve, tea-length dress. The mothers were presented with corsages. They were royal blue roses and baby’s breath with white and blue ribbon. The bride gave the mothers two roses each. On the way to the altar, she stopped and gave each one a kiss on the cheek.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the ballroom at the Governor’s House. The bride’s three-tier cake was buttercream icing with white layers. It was trimmed with blue stars around the border and blue roses. The top tier featured a crystal bride and groom figurine surrounded by blue roses. The groom’s cake was chocolate and in the shape of two hearts with a University of Georgia bulldog theme.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Armuchee.
