Final: Power 6, Braves 1

(at State Mutual Stadium)

How it happened:

The Power scored two runs in three separate innings — the second, third and seventh — while downing the Braves in the opener of a doubleheader.

Who did what for Rome: The Braves were limited to four singles, two of which came from Robby Hefflinger.

On the mound: Former UGA star Alex Wood (0-2) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks in four innings. Wood, who saw his ERA climb to 4.50, had four strikeouts.

Game notes: Atlanta pitcher Peter Moylan, making a rehab stop in Rome this weekend, worked a perfect fifth inning with one strikeout.

Final: Power 9, Braves 0

How it happened:

The Braves offense was limited to two hits — a pair of singles by Robby Hefflinger — while the Power produced 10 hits and generated multi-run rallies in the second, fifth and sixth innings to complete the doubleheader sweep. The Braves entered the night owning sole possession of first place in the Southern Division, but they now share first place with Charleston.

On the mound: Rome starter Jarrett Miller

was charged with five runs (four earned) in

4 1-3 innings. Miller (5-3) allowed four hits and issued five walks. He finished with four strikeouts.
