The First Friday concert is a go, said Downtown Development Authority representatives. If there is rain the concert may be delayed for a short time.

The First Friday concert series continues this week with when Cedartown native Sam Hunt brings his cool country tunes to Bridgepoint Plaza.

Hunt grew up in Cedartown. After finishing college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2008, he promptly moved to Nashville and began working as a songwriter.

Since then, he has had songs recorded by Kenny Chesney, Neal McCoy, and Blake Wise. Hunt is currently working on a record of his own. His vocal and guitar talent blends in complete harmony with fellow band members Michael Packer, lead guitar; Jason Wilkes on rhythm guitar and background vocals; John Packer on bass.

The concert is free and open to the public. Concessions will be sold and guests are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs.

Don’t miss this local artist and rising star. In case of rain, the concert will move to the Rome City Auditorium, 601 Broad Street.
