The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Avery Wilkins of Longmont, Colo. The groom is the son and Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Harold Mooring Jr. of Rome.
The Rev. Josh Ratzlaff performed the double ring ceremony which took place in a natural amphitheater on the bank of the North Saint Vrain River with the Rocky Mountains in the background.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mike Randleman. Selections included “Cannon in D,” “Trumpet Tune in D major for flute” and “Hornpipe from Water Music.”
Kaitlyn Fay Wilkins of Longmont, Colo., sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a cocktail-length gown of cornflower blue chiffon which had a cascading ruffle on the skirt. The strapless design featured a sweetheart neckline, empire waist and ruched bodice.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Shasta daisies, seeded eucalyptus and rustic greenery which were tied with white satin wedding ribbons.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a strapless formal gown of white organza. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline with cross-over draping. It featured a ruched bodice and natural waistline which was embellished with appliqué and pearl accents on a brooch which held a champagne satin sash. The slim bustled skirt ended in a sweep-length train.
The bride wore a fingertip-length veil of white tulle. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white Shasta daisies accented with cornflower blue delphiniums, bachelor buttons, seeded eucalyptus and rustic greenery finished with white bridal ribbons. She also carried a handmade antique white handkerchief, a gift from the groom’s mother.
Guests were ushered by the bride’s brother, Erick Wilkins of Fort Collins, Colo.
The brother of the groom, Wyatt Harold Mooring III, of Dothan, Ala., served as best man.
The mother of the bride chose a cocktail-length dress of Naples yellow silk with a boat neckline accented with pleating, cap sleeves and natural waist. The mothers and grandmother were presented with nosegays of Shasta daisies, cornflower blue delphiniums and rustic greenery.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Lodge at Wild Basin. Refreshments included Amaretto cake and Bavarian cream and chocolate-chocolate chip cake with mocha mousse filling and was decorated with white gerber daisies, blue delphiniums and gypsophilia.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for family and out-of-town guests at Bear Ridge Resort in Estes Park, Colo. Other pre-nuptial parties included a bachelorette dinner in Annapolis, Md., a get-acquainted dinner for the families of the bride and groom hosted by Mr. and Mrs. John Wilkins at the Wilkins home, and an around-the-clock shower and dinner hosted by Kaitlyn Wilkins, Mrs. Philippe Melin and Mrs. Wyatt Mooring III at the Wilkins home.
Following a wedding trip to Colorado, the couple will reside in Norfolk, Va.
