According to officer John Giles with the Rome Police Department:
A 2001 green Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Addington Drive hit the bus going into a curve.
The bus, driven by Elander Graham, was traveling in the other lane.
The vehicle hit the front-left of the bus and went partially underneath it.
The driver of the car, Kristie Kelley, was charged with driving too fast for conditions. She, along with two passengers, was unharmed, and no one on the bus was injured.
The 30 children, who attend Rome Middle and Rome High schools, were transferred to another bus and continued on their route.
The bus that was involved was able to be driven back to the city bus depot.
